His leadership ensures his clientele have the resources they need to thrive in challenging environments.
Before founding ABC, Erik built a successful career in manufacturing and outsourcing, gaining expertise in global supply chains and operational efficiency. He also established a versatile consultancy spanning aviation, natural resources, claims origination, litigation finance, and manufacturing, showcasing his ability to excel across diverse industries.
A graduate of Tulane University, Erik combines his education and entrepreneurial insights to solve complex challenges with strategic and creative solutions. Based in South Florida, he remains committed to fostering resilience and growth in the industries and communities he serves.
Jim McCabe
Chairman
Jim McCabe is the co-founder of American Bridge Capital (ABC). Before establishing ABC, Jim founded Las Olas Capital in 2020, where he served as a strategic leader in sourcing, underwriting, and financing over $1 billion in investment-grade receivables and alternative assets. With executive experience spanning multiple specialty finance companies, Jim brings a wealth of expertise in structuring innovative financing solutions.
He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Florida and currently serves as the CEO of the Liberty Settlement Funding platform. At ABC, Jim plays a pivotal role in driving the firm’s strategy and investment operations.
Mario Rodriguez
General Counsel and Underwriter
Mario Rodriguez is a licensed Florida Attorney and General Counsel at American Bridge Capital. Mario oversees all transactional and legal matters and has years of experience working in specialty finance. He is also the General Counsel of Liberty Settlement Funding and has overseen thousands of structured settlement transfers. Mario earned a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Miami and then went on to get his Juris Doctor from University of Miami as well.
Ted Kay
Head of Business Development
Ted Kay, MBA, specializes in finance and brings over two decades of senior leadership in business development, operations, and strategic partnerships across finance, disaster recovery, international construction, and the demanding world of music and entertainment. At ABC, Ted drives outreach, builds high-value partnerships, and expands access to fast, compliant bridge funding for municipalities, private nonprofits, contractors, and subs. He is known for his ability to think outside the box, creative problem-solving, and commitment to client success.
Marc Hermes
Chief Financial Officer
Marc Hermes brings over two decades of financial, operational, and sales leadership to his role as Chief Financial Officer at American Bridge Capital. With deep roots in structured settlement funding and a proven track record of building scalable finance platforms, Marc plays a key role in guiding ABC's financial strategy and supporting its mission to deliver rapid, flexible capital solutions for government-backed infrastructure and disaster recovery projects.
Before joining American Bridge Capital, Marc served as President of Liberty Settlement Funding, where he oversaw all aspects of operations, finance, and sales. Under his leadership, Liberty became a recognized leader in the structured settlement space, serving thousands of clients nationwide since its founding in 2011.
Prior to entering the financial services industry, Marc spent over a decade at Comcast Spotlight (now Effectv), where he ranked in the top 5% of sales professionals across the U.S. His foundation in high-performance sales, combined with his financial expertise, gives him a unique perspective on both relationship-driven growth and operational execution.
Marc holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Florida.
